Can't wait for a good book?

These are available on Amazon now:

Can you think of a person you may have met or treated whose usual mood was gloomy and unhappy, and did they have feelings of low self-esteem? Were they critical of themselves and did they brood and tend to worry? Did they tend to be negative and judgmental toward others? Were they pessimistic and prone to feeling guilty or remorseful? Did this person have a Depressive Personality Disorder? If you'd like to learn more about recent research and trends related to Depressive Personality Disorder as well as get notified when my book is published late Spring/Early Summer, 2009- send an e-mail to info@depressivepersonality.com, thanks! Did you know you can register on the DSM-V website even if you are not a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and make suggestions about the future DSM-V?

If you think the concept of a Depressive Personality Disorder has clinical utility and you want to see it in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V), you can go ahead and tell the DSM-V task force so by visiting the site and Submitting your comments about your desire to see DPD in DSM-V and how you think it should look. Either way, I think its worth registering on the site. Thanks!

I also think discussion of DSM-V and ICD-11 would be relevant and interesting.

This book answers the question “Does Depressive Personality Disorder Exist?” with a concise, readable review of current research and trends. It is geared toward the clinician who may already be assessing for depressive traits and not even realize it, as well as anyone else interested in learning more about Depressive Personality Disorder. In addition, suggestions for current practice under DSM-IV-TR (American Psychiatric Association) and ICD-10 (World Health Organization) as well as for the development of DSM-V and ICD-11 are offered. Gain a firm background in current research and theory leading to the confident assessment of Depressive Personality Disorder, offered both as a diagnosis for further research and as an example of a diagnosis that can be made under Personality Disorder NOS in the DSM-IV and DSM-IV-TR. This book makes the case for inclusion of DPD in DSM-V and ICD-11.
